UPCOMING BIRTH EVENTS IN VANCOUVER, BC.
Vancouver Midwifery Study Group.
The next Study Group begins Fri., Jan. 15, 2010 and
extends into time about a year. It is 44 Friday evenings
of instruction. 4 Semesters of 10 classes plus an exam
on the 11th week of the semester for that period. Each
semester costs $ 375 and fees must be paid in full on the
first day of the semester.
This course is designed to support he education of women
with families—we break during school holidays when the
children are home. In 2010, the instructor will be away
for most of the month of May so there will be a break
then, too. Class begins promptly at 7 p.m. and
ends at 11 p.m. There is a dress code for the class—you
are expected to look like a health professional in
training. Pregnant women will be attending many of the
classes to give students a chance to use models for
various skill training.
The course is not for accreditation or government
credentialing of any kind.
Students will proceed at varying pace through the
classes and there will
be homework each week. To be accepted into the Study
Group, students must submit letters of referral from at
least two teachers, employers, or personal mentors.
